This name refers to at least two species of the Boraginaceae family: Cordia curassavica and Varronia oaxacana. Both are abundant shrubs that reach a height of 1 meter and produce white flowers and a small fruit. The fruit of the Cordia curassavica is small, edible, red in color and spherical in shape.
