Description:
Term used for at least two species. The first, Solanum erianthum, of the Solanaceae family, is a scarce shrub that reaches a height of 1.5 meters. The flowers are white with yellow stamens, and the fruit is green. Both the leaves and the stems have a velvety texture. This species is considered to have curative properties to treat inflammation of the prostate and for kidney and bladder problems. For these purposes, it is boiled and drunk as a tea or used as an enema. The second species is a tree that reaches a height of 10 meters, belonging to the Cordia genus, of the Boraginaceae family. the flowers are orange and the fruit is yellow. No medicinal properties are attributed to this species.
