Description:
This name is used to refer to at least 3 species belonging to the Brassicaceae, Capparaceae and Fabaceae families. These herbs reach a height of between 30 and 50 centimeters and are generally found in abundance, although this varies from place to place. The flowers may be yellow, white with purple or green, depending on the species, and the fruit may be green. They can be thorny, and may look like small shrubs, given their structure. They are believed to have medicinal properties to relieve pain: they are ground and applied to the painful area, either dry or soaked in alcohol. They may be fatal to pigs if swallowed. It is believed they were once abundant in the rainy season, and experts note they are currently scarce.
