guamúchil, huamúchil
Abundant tree that reaches a height of 15 meters, with fragrant yellow flowers and orange or red fruit. A wide variety of animals and insects can be found among the branches of this tree, which thus appears enveloped in the various sounds the creatures make. The bark is very hard, hence the name, and is considered to have medicinal properties. For this reason, it is used to bathe children when they are feeling unwell and have rashes on their arms. There are two types of guamúchil, white guamúchil and hill guamúchil.
